I read all the reviews carefully, especially the negative ones. Then I mentally tossed the purchase about, that's a lot of money to spend for a bed warmer. I put it off, almost convinced myself I didn't really need one. After all I live in South Texas, we don't even get freezing cold weather but rarely. This was that rare year, my putting it off only served to have it arrive the day it quit freezing! No matter, it is wonderful! Had no problems putting it on, plenty big for double pillow top, I took the advice and put my bedsack on top of it. The backlite stays on plenty long, no noises, the wires aren't felt. I can't find a negative thing. It is definitly worth the exta monies. I have owned two others and this is the best by far. -- Got cold feet or aches & pains?

I'm really pleased with this mattress pad. My previous one was also made by Sunbeam and was not nearly as comfortable nor as convenient as this one. With that model, I was always aware of the wires, and there was no on/off switch; if it was plugged in, it was on. I LOVED it despite all its shortcomings and was pretty sad when I had to throw it away. The Sunbeam Therapeutic- Rest And Relieve - Heated Mattress Pad is a huge step up from that old mattress pad. I like that there is a wireless remote that controls three different zones because it's usually my upper body and my feet that are always cold. I also like that the padding is thick enough so that I can't feel the wires while I sleep.

After reading some of the reviews, I was concerned that the connector that's sitting on top of the pad would be a real pain, but honestly, I barely notice it's there. The connector is on the end of the pad by the foot, and in the corner. The cords are long enough to run underneath the mattress so that there are no unsightly cords hanging from the bed. It does take a few minutes to heat up, about 15 minutes. I tried the Preheat function but don't really see how it's different from just turning the mattress pad on as normal.

This was actually the second time I purchased this product and I'm VERY glad I did. The first time, I returned it because the cost, and I liked the electric blanket better. While this is true to an extent, the benefit of the heated mattress pad even in the summer makes it well worth the money. I have arthritis and Lupus, and I would wake up with painful muscle spasam's simply from getting cooled down. After using this mattress pad for about a month now, I wonder how I made it before. I keep it set on 2 or 3, and if I do not turn it on, I wake up in pain but with the gentle heat, it just eases all the joints and muscles. With three separate zones, I can have the heat only on the part of the body I need it. If you are in doubt, I would say take a chance. You just might like it.
